Peter Knudsen is a jazz pianist known for his boundary-crossing musical explorations. In his trio, he interprets compositions by French masters like Debussy and Ravel. He also collaborates with Joakim Milder in quartet renditions of national romanticist Peterson-Berger’s works. Additionally, Knudsen is a member of Derupeto, a multicultural ensemble blending elements from Swedish, Brazilian, and Mozambican music traditions, creating a unique fusion of styles with jazz improvisation at its core. As a composer, Knudsen has crafted music for his own octet, Peter Knudsen, released by Italian label CAM Jazz. He has also created commissioned pieces for prominent big bands like Stockholm Jazz Orchestra and Norrbotten Big Band. Currently, he is engaged in a collaboration with classical guitarist David Härenstam, exploring a diverse range of music from Swedish folk tunes to Japanese classical compositions on their critically acclaimed album ’All in Twilight,’ described by Sydsvenskan’s Staffan Storm as ’one of the most exciting chamber music albums of the year.’
Terese Lien Evenstad is a sought-after jazz violinist in the Nordics who has received several awards and scholarships for her music and performances. As the first jazz violinist to graduate from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, her unique sound blends folk influences seamlessly into jazz traditions. Evenstad has not only contributed to several albums but has also released three albums with original contemporary jazz written by her. She is a versatile artist who excels not only in her solo projects but also collaborates with various constellations. She has had the privilege of performing with renowned ensembles like Bohuslän Big Band, as well as esteemed jazz musicians such as Frank Vignola & Vinny Raviolo. Additionally, she has toured in countries including Germany, India, Norway, Italy, and Switzerland.
